2024 Aluminum Tube

2024 aluminum alloy is a kind of high-strength duralumin, belongs to the Al-Cu-Mg system of aluminum alloy, mainly used for the production of a variety of high-load parts and components, can be heat-treated to strengthen, in the quenched and just quenched state of the plasticity of the medium.

The main features and applications of 2024 aluminum alloy are: it is a high-strength duralumin, which can be strengthened by heat treatment, has moderate plasticity in quenched and just quenched condition, good spot welding performance, and tendency to form intergranular cracks when using gas welding. The alloy has good machinability after quenching and cold work hardening. After annealing the processing performance is low, corrosion resistance is not high, usually using anodic oxidation treatment and coating methods, or surface coating aluminum layer to improve its corrosion resistance.

Aluminum 2024 is mainly used in the manufacture of a variety of highly loaded parts and assemblies (but not stamped forgings), such as aircraft skeleton parts, outer skins, bulkheads, ribs, trusses, rivets, and other working parts up to 150°C.
